The Gift of Forgiveness

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23 (KJV)

A friend of mine recently proclaimed receiving the “Gift of Forgiveness,” through a letter. Knowing her personality, I imagine her face is aglow and her smile is contagious to those around her. She said, “I couldn’t wait to tell everyone about this awesome gift!” The gift is the Gospel of Jesus Christ, who came to bring good tidings and great joy! These good tidings and joy often come in the contrast of much suffering and hardships. I know a little of Kayla’s story, which is similar to mine, and the scars we both bear today, because of the generational curses that remain upon a family until someone comes to the saving knowledge of Christ, and agrees with His Words spoken on the cross, “It is Finished!”. Hallelujah! Because of this covenant our scars glow as well, because the love of Christ and the gift of forgiveness makes us clean, and new from the effects of sin. This promise is not only available to us, but for future generations as well. “O that there was such a heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and their children for ever!” (Duet. 5:29)

Have you received the Gift of Forgiveness, Jesus Christ, the Hope of Glory? My prayer is this day you would. Confess your sins to Him, He already knows, but through your confession you are giving those sins over to Him, who took them upon Himself on Calvary. Once your sins are giving over, the Gift of Forgiveness is yours, which includes a heavenly imparted peace, that begins to change your very nature. Then ask the Lord to make you new, heart, mind, soul, and strength, and trust Him to do it by faith, and it shall be done unto you. I also suggest getting to a Bible preaching church and find someone you can learn from, to assist in walking out your new life in Christ! This is a decision you will not regret and the true adventure begins toward a life beyond your best imagination.

The Words of Jesus found in the gospel of Luke 7:10, “Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth,” All of heaven celebrates this day of Salvation with you!
